Webinar: Scientific advocacy with Congress and administrative agencies

Wednesday, November 19, 2024 | 2pm EST | Virtual

The 2024 U.S. congressional election has critical implications for science with regards to funding research, oversight of how federal scientific agencies are run, and the ability to investigate how federally-funded science is conducted.

In this webinar, the Climate Science Legal Defense Fund will discuss how scientists can participate in the federal Notice and Comment rulemaking process and can communicate with Congress without violating anti-lobbying laws. This will include implications of the recent Loper Bright decision by the Supreme Court, redefining how Congress delegates authority to administrative agencies, and suggestions for potential reform measures that would improve how the government treats science.
