If you’re planning to attend the Ocean Sciences Meeting, save the date for our poster presentation on how scientists can safely and effectively engage with policymakers in the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. It’s happening on Tuesday, February 18 between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. in Poster Hall C–D.

How science has suffered since November 2016.
We’ve documented 388 attacks on science by federal, local, and state governments since November 2016 in the Silencing Science Tracker, a database we maintain with the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law. The newest entry, based on a report by The Washington Post, describes how hundreds of federal scientists have been forced out, sidelined, or muted since President Trump took office.
