WE ARE NOT GIVING UP
The second Trump administration has waged an all-out assault on science. We will never stop fighting to protect and defend scientists and scientific integrity.
We are not giving up
In the first quarter of 2025, twenty-four scientists came to us for legal help, including a professor facing egregious climate censorship by his university and researchers fearing legal risks from investigating climate misinformation. We’re hiring another attorney to meet the workload.
We are also collectively facing the prospect of a return of a federal administration that doesn’t believe in climate change. Will you join the fight for climate science before it’s too late?
This summer, a group of amazing supporters have recognized this crucial moment and will match your gift, doubling it up to $40,000. This generous support will allow us to:
- Make sure scientists can safely engage in democracy and advocacy with toolkits, education sessions, and outreach. Scientists’ voices must be heard in the upcoming election.
- Preemptively strive for better protections for science at the federal level, working with partners and key groups while we still can.
- Prepare legal defenses for the cataclysmic impact of thousands of federal researchers potentially losing their jobs.
- And, of course, provide free legal representation to climate scientists who continue to be attacked and silenced due to their work.
This summer, please stand with us on the frontlines of the war on science. Together, we can do this.
Why support CSLDF?
A record-breaking number of scientists…
… came to us for free legal representation and support in 2024. We are already well on our way to breaking that record again.
We track the federal government’s attempts to silence science
Efforts to interfere with scientific integrity have grown in scale and impact. To date, we have tracked 627 government attempts to silence or interfere with science.
We help scientists understand their rights
Under the current anti-science administration, scientists’ voices are crucial to fighting back. We help them know what rights and protections they have when speaking up for science.
